I have dark brown short hair. I thought I was suppose to mix this stuff with a dye kit but I have been reading up and these articles just confuse me. Should it be mixed with a powder or a dye kit. I want to be blonde with red streaks. By the way, I have Volume 40..
How do I bleach my dark brown hair with cream peroxide developer?
You can not put pure cream developer on your hair, it is a powder mix that you use. Make sure that you also buy a blonde shade that you like, bc if you have dark brown hair it will not go to a nice shade of blond by bleaching it. Make sure you dry your hair completely before putting the blonde dye on it and use a really good conditioner at the end. It will be easier to put the red streaks in on the dark brown hair, so if you can pull over what you want red and not put bleach on it, that should look really good.
Reply:Don't do it. Most likely your doing this to save $$. That sounds like a double process. When you have dark hair like that, it's not going to come out the way you like. You'll probably end up with brassy orange hair. Then you'll end up in the salon getting a corrective color which will cost triple what it would have if you went and got it done by a professional in the first place. This answer is coming from a professional that has been a hairdresser for 18 years.
Reply:Umm. go to a stylist. Chances are they know what they're doing and you dont.
Reply:I asked about highlighting kits for brown hair and was told to go to a salon.
Since you want two processes- one blonde, one red, you should probably see a stylist too! If you screw it up and damage/dry out your hair, a stylist may not want to put more dye over that to fix it.
I don't know about developers etc.. If you decide to do it at home could you find a kit that contains all the things you need in one place with directions? A friend of mine used "Punky" bleach on dark brown hair to take the brown out, then put color on top of that. She said the bleach burned her scalp somethin' awful but it did work. Good luck!
Reply:dont use peroxide.
Reply:There is nothing like keeping your own, natural, hair color (or, for you Brits and Aussies, "colour")! A *real* man would "prefer" your hair that way!
