How many copies of a particular game does a video game developer have to sell to make a profit?

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune sold around 1,450,000 copies. Is that good or bad?

What a lot of people dont realize is most of the games that are made now are treated the same as when making major blockbuster movies. Like the person said above some can cost 20 million to make. Some are a lot more especially when the developer has to pay everyone for the work. They have to pay actors and screenwriters lots of money to lend themselves to the project
Reply:Depending on the staff they have working, the time put into it, %26amp; the quality of gameplay (all costs included)

figuring Game's are bought at wholesale price ood $20.00 U.S. dollars by retailers, the number of sales would add up to

29,000,000

i' dont know how large their budget was... but I would guess that's a profit.

* THESE CALCULATION'S DONT INCLUDE RETAILER UNSOLD COPIES*
Reply:'penz on the budget. High-budget games usually cost upwards of $20 million so a million is not really good sales.
