Is there a difference between the hair damage with 30 and 40 vol developer?

Hydrogen peroxide is used to develop the color molecule in the dye as well as eliminating your natural pigment/color, making room for the new color. The higher the number the stronger it is. The higher the number the more likely you are going blonde. But to answer your question, the lesser of two evils would be of course: 30 vol. I strongly suggest you throw them away and go see your stylist and let them use their knowledge in your peroxide needs.
