When using haircolor, what's the difference between cream and liquid developer?

The cream is thicker and less likely to run all over your face...I'd go with that!!!

yeah the cream can be applied with a bowl and brush the liquid with applicator bottle. Report It

Reply:The only difference is that a cream developer will be easier to use, for most people, because it has a thicker consistency, and will cling to the hair, opposed to a liquid that has the tendency to "run." Also, another thing that will make hair-color application easier, and make the color more even, is to use an application brush. It looks like a small, plastic paint brush on one end, and has a narrow, point at the other end. It allows you to evenly brush on the hair-color, and quickly separate the hair during the process.
Reply:cream is thicker and liquid is runny
Reply:there is clear and cream. Clear looks like the peroxide you put on cuts. Cream looks like... well... cream. Clear is pretty much unnecessary. You can use it to mix with some color that is liquid as well, or some powder bleach. It's good to use when you are doing a bottle application. However I usually use a bowl and brush so I never use it. There is no difference in function, just that clear can only be used with liquid color that comes in a bottle, not a tube. Cream can be used with anything.
Reply:one is creamier and the other is just runny like water... Most are somewhere in between. Just be sure what strength u are using... 20 volume is what most OTC dyes have unless it is HI LIFT, which is like 30 or 40 vol.... Go to a Beauty supply store and they will help you... Hugs
