Will working in the adult industry as a Web Developer hurt my resume and future?

Will working in the adult industry as an entry level web developer hurt my chances of moving on or landing a new job? I understand that it would be difficult to add this kind of content to a portfolio. Any thoughts or suggestions? Also Id like to add that it is for a very large media company.

It shouldn't since it's direct experience. As long as you can show them some examples of your work that are PG and not explicit it shouldn't be a problem. In your cover letter talk about how working in such controversial industry has been helpful and a good learning experience. I mean it's not a negative factor on your resume unless you allow it to be.
Reply:The only goal of the CV is to get you a job meeting. Once in the meeting, you can elaborate more. Once in the meeting, I believe it will be less likely that the interviewer (if s/he is professional that is) to judge you based on the content of the sites you have coded.
Reply:wow this is really a difficult question and it depends on the country of your residence and your culture.

However, what you can do is mention on your CV the name of the media company. You do not have to explicitly write down that it codes adult web applications.

Anyways, the technical interviewer should be focusing on the architecture and the technical side of your applications rather than on the content itself.
Reply:That used to be a problem in the 1990's, but now no one cares. In fact, the porn industry is cited as driving the new media technology. Go figure, eh?
Reply:Use two different names.
Reply:It all depends on who you sighn up with later in life.... if they look at it in the "developers aspect" and see youve done a good job then they shouldnt if they are uptight about things like that then your screwed
