In order to become an interior designer, you would really need to start from scratch and take on a professional qualification, such as a degree: http://www.bida.org http://www.learndirect-advice.co.uk/help...

In order to become a property developer, all you need to do is purchase a property, develop it, then sell it on. You do not need formal qualifications. You just need to know what you are buying and how well it will sell. Remember that not all properties will make a profit. And in the current climate things are up in the air. You can get some good bargains at the moment - but how much they could sell for when you've developed them is anyone's guess unfortunately!

If you do want to become a property developer, you just need to do your research. Buy lots of books and watch lots of informational programmes. Don't expect it to be a 'get rich quick' kind of game! Research about up and coming areas. You live in the midlands, like myself, so if you were looking at Birmingham for example, you should research Digbeth and the Jewellery Quarter - as both areas are due for major regeneration over the next few years and are 'up and coming'.

Good luck with everything!

Reply:you can start by finding an apprenticeship with a successful interior designer or you can go back to school.

I live in the tristate area so if I were to go in to interior designer I would go to teh fashion institute of technology.

FITNYC.edu (i think that is there website) has evening/weekend degrees
