What is the difference between Software Engineer and a Software Developer?

software engineer : Computer software engineers apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work.

software developer :A software developer is a person or organization concerned with one or more facets of the software development process, a somewhat broader scope of computer programming or a specialty of project managing.

What is the difference between Software Engineer and a Software Developer?
Basically in terms of task they have similarity.


This is the company that provide the designation to their employee. Most of the IT related company the have the classified working area to each sectors they use the Software engineer and Developers as the classified job the do.

The same guy when he develops a new sofware for any kinda application, he is a.k.a software developer

A software developer works more specifically on designing and developing software and less of the other engineer stuff.





This is just general because in the real world, say if there was a programming position, both would still be likely candidates. That means that there isn't a clear distinction between the two. The colleges just teach you slightly different things and methods depending on which you choose.
