How do I become a game developer?

How do I become a game developer?
Your best shot is to get a degree in Computer Science, and learn various forms of programming. The better college you go to, the better contacts you'll have. You can get an MIT quality education for free (MIT actually posts amazing levels of coursework and lectures for free on their website), if you work hard enough. College gives you the degree to prove it, and the contacts to get in places where you normally couldn't before.

You need to learn programming and preferrably a lot of 3d graphics development. Becoming a game developer is very hard work, and you're likely to spend a lot of time on difficult jobs for low pay. However, if you're dedicated to it and love the idea of creating video games, you could really enjoy this job.

Still, if you're not in college yet, I suggest you get a book on learning how to code in C/C++, and practice there. It's a lot of work, so if you can't motivate yourself to learn how to code simpler 200 line projects in C/C++, you might have trouble becoming a game developer.
Reply:Depends where u live. Lot of colleges and univeristys have specifc game development programs. and if u live in toronto theres a great Video Game Develpment college here
